What a Full-Service Garage Reset Actually Looks Like (Start to Finish)

Most people have a rough idea that a garage reset involves sorting, cleaning, and organizing. What they don't know is what that actually looks like on the day — and more importantly, what it doesn't require from them.
This is the question we get most often before a booking: What do I need to do to prepare?
The answer is almost always the same: nothing. That's the point.
Here's exactly how a ClearWay garage reset works, from the first conversation to the moment you pull your car inside for the first time in years.
Step 1: The Walkthrough
Before anything is quoted or scheduled, we come to you.
A walkthrough takes about 20 minutes. We walk the space, ask a few questions about how you use the garage, what you want to keep, and what your end goal looks like — parking access, workspace, hobby storage, or some combination of all three.
From there we build a written quote covering everything: the reset itself, any junk haul if needed, and a clear breakdown of what's included. No surprises, no add-ons you didn't agree to.
We serve homeowners across Greater Victoria — Oak Bay, Broadmead, Cordova Bay, Langford, Colwood, Saanich, Gordon Head, and James Bay — and walkthroughs are always free.
Step 2: The Sort
On reset day, we start by pulling everything out and sorting it into clear categories.
Keep. Donate. Haul. Relocate. Decide later.
That last category matters. Not every item needs a decision made on the spot, and we don't pressure you to make calls you're not ready for. Items that need more thought get staged clearly so nothing gets lost and nothing disappears that shouldn't.
What we're looking for underneath the layers is the actual shape of your life — the things you use regularly, the things that have sentimental value, and the things that have just been waiting for someone to finally make a call.
Step 3: The Organize
Once we know what's staying, we build a system around it.
This means zone-based organization — like items grouped with like items, in locations that match how you actually move through the space. Frequently used items at reach. Seasonal items stored cleanly. Tools where tools belong.
We work with your existing storage where possible. If you need additional shelving, bins, or wall systems, we can source and install those as an add-on — or recommend exactly what to order and come back to install it once it arrives.
The goal isn't a showroom garage. It's a garage that works without you having to think about it.
Step 4: The Haul
Everything that's leaving gets handled by us.
Donation items are staged and taken to a local drop-off. Junk and garbage get coordinated through our haul partners — dump fees included in the quoted price.
You don't need to rent a truck, coordinate a pickup, or make a trip to Hartland.
This is one of the biggest differences between a ClearWay reset and doing it yourself. The reason most people never finish their own garage project isn't the sorting — it's the hauling. Getting rid of stuff is hard, time-consuming, and surprisingly expensive when you add up truck rental, dump fees, and your weekend.
We take that entire piece off your plate.
Step 5: You Park Inside
Most clients drive into their garage the same evening we finish.
That moment — pulling through the door into a clean, organized space that actually works — is what this is all about. Not just the practicality of it, but the feeling of a project that's been sitting in the background of your mind for years finally being done.
What It Costs
A standard single-car garage reset starts at $750, which includes the sort, organize, and basic layout reset using your existing storage. Additional spaces are $395 each.
Junk haul, shelving installation, and procurement are available as add-ons and quoted separately based on your specific situation.
We offer three service tiers — Essential Reset, Signature Sort, and White Glove — depending on the depth of transformation you're looking for. Your walkthrough quote will outline the most applicable choices from our conversations so you can choose what fits.
